Privacy policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Relief Alliance LLC (referred to as "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit any of our websites, including unitedreliefalliance.org and our online storefront, or when you purchase one of our products.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us directly
- Your first name. Used to personalize the prayer audio we record for you.
- Your email address. Used to deliver your purchase and to send transactional messages such as receipts, renewal reminders, and refund confirmations.
- The text of your prayer request. Optional, given during the order form. Used to compose the prayer audio.
- Customer support messages. Anything you write to support@unitedreliefalliance.org.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and browser information. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, screen size, language. Used to deliver the site correctly and to detect fraud.
- Usage analytics. Pages visited, time on page, scroll depth. Collected through Microsoft Clarity, which masks all form input by default. We use it to fix layout problems and improve clarity of the site.
- Marketing attribution. If you arrived from an advertisement, we collect the campaign identifier (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) so we can know which advertisements brought visitors to us. These identifiers do not contain anything personally identifiable about you.
1.3 Information we do NOT collect
- Your payment card number, card verification value (CVV), or card expiration date. These are collected directly by Stripe inside the Stripe-hosted checkout. We never see them.
- Your social security number, government identification number, or date of birth.
- Your physical mailing address, unless you proactively give it to us in a support message.
- Information about minors. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
2. How we use your information
We use your personal information only for the following purposes:
- To deliver the product you purchased. Producing your prayer audio, sending your devotional PDF, delivering receipts.
- To provide customer support. Answering your questions, processing refunds, cancelling subscriptions.
- To communicate transactionally. Sending renewal reminders, refund confirmations, cancellation confirmations.
- To prevent fraud. Reviewing the IP address and order patterns of a transaction to spot card fraud, in cooperation with Stripe.
- To comply with legal obligations. Responding to lawful requests from regulators, tax authorities, and courts of competent jurisdiction.
We do not use your prayer request, your name, or your email address for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making, or any purpose unrelated to delivering your order and supporting you.
3. Who we share information with
We share your personal information only with the following categories of recipients, and only for the purposes listed:
- Stripe, Inc.
- Our payment processor. Receives your name, email, country, IP, and the amount and currency of the charge, to complete the payment. Stripe is a PCI Service Provider Level 1.
- Resend, Inc.
- Our transactional email provider. Receives your email address and the content of the emails we send you, to deliver our receipts, renewal reminders, and customer support replies.
- Vercel, Inc.
- Our website hosting provider. Receives your IP address and standard server-log information when you visit our websites, to serve the site.
- OpenAI, LLC
- The text of your prayer request is processed by OpenAI's API to compose the language of your audio prayer. Per OpenAI's API data policy, this data is not used to train any model and is retained for at most 30 days for abuse monitoring.
- Microsoft Clarity
- Receives pseudonymous analytics about how you use the site (clicks, scrolls, page paths). Form input is masked by default and never sent.
- Government and regulators
- When required by law, court order, or by the rules of a payment-card network of which we are a merchant member.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, do not share it with advertising networks for cross-site profiling, and do not transfer it to data brokers.
4. How long we keep your information
- Order records (name, email, amount, date) are kept for 7 years, to comply with U.S. tax record requirements.
- Prayer requests are kept for 90 days from the date of your order, to support refunds, content reissue, and customer support, then deleted.
- Email correspondence is kept for 2 years from the last interaction.
- Analytics data in Microsoft Clarity is retained for 13 months and then automatically deleted.
If you request the deletion of your data, we honor it within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep.
5. Your rights (GDPR, for residents of the European Economic Area)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the GDPR and equivalent local laws:
- Access: the right to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Rectification: the right to ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Erasure: the right to ask us to delete your personal information (subject to records we must keep by law).
- Restriction: the right to ask us to limit how we use your information.
- Portability: the right to receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: the right to object to any processing we carry out under a "legitimate interests" basis.
- Withdrawal of consent: the right to withdraw any consent you have given.
- Complaint: the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@unitedreliefalliance.org. We acknowledge requests within 5 business days and complete them within 30 days, in line with the GDPR. We do not charge a fee for handling these requests.
For data transfers outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and on the adequacy decisions in force.
6. Your rights (CCPA, for residents of California)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, how we use it, and who we share it with.
- Right to delete the personal information we hold (subject to records we must keep by law).
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but we honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a confirmation of this.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise these rights, email support@unitedreliefalliance.org. You may have an authorized agent act on your behalf, provided we can verify the agent's authorization.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, only for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary: session cookies set by our hosting platform and by Stripe's checkout, used to keep the site working and to process the payment.
- Analytics: cookies set by Microsoft Clarity to provide pseudonymous analytics.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or cross-site tracking cookies on this website.
8. Security
We protect your information through:
- HTTPS (TLS 1.2+) on every page that handles personal information.
- Encryption at rest for our application database, provided by our infrastructure partners.
- Role-based access controls. Only the single member of the LLC has direct production access.
- Payment data isolation. Card data never touches our servers and is captured by Stripe directly.
No security system is perfect. If we discover a security incident affecting your personal information, we notify you and the appropriate authorities promptly, in line with the GDPR, the California CCPA, and U.S. state data breach notification laws.
9. Children
Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email support@unitedreliefalliance.org and we will delete it.
10. International users
Relief Alliance LLC is established in the United States. By using our services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and in the countries where our service providers operate (mainly the United States and the European Union). We rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent material change. If a change reduces your rights as a subscriber or customer, we notify you by email before it takes effect.
